There were wins for Mainz 05 and FC Augsburg in Saturday's Bundesliga action from Germany.
Mainz 05 strolled to a 3-1 win over Hamburger SV with Jairo Samperio grabbing a brace and Christian Clemens wrapping up the points before Johan Djourou pulled one back for the hosts late on.
TSG Hoffenheim snatched a late equaliser in their 1-1 draw with FC Ingolstadt. Roger Bernardo had put Ingolstadt ahead in the 66th minute before Mark Uth popped in with a goal in the sixth minute of added time.
FC Augsburg needed just a single goal from Raúl Bobadilla in the 64th minute to earn a 1-0 victory over 1. FC Köln.
Leverkusen had to play with 10 men for most of their 2-1 defeat to Hertha Berlin after Sebastian Boenisch’s red card. Javier Hernandez equalised after Vladimír Darida had put the hosts ahead, with John Brooks netting a second-half winner for Hertha.
Borussia MG pulled off the shock of the evening with a 3-1 victory over Bayern München. Oscar Wendt, Lars Stindl, and Fabian Johnson all struck for Die Fohlen early in the second half before Franck Ribery pulled one back for the league leaders.
BVB Dortmund edged out VfL Wolfsburg 2-1 in dramatic fashion in a tightly-contested affair at the Volkswagen Arena on Saturday evening. Marco Reus put Dortmund ahead after 32 minutes, but Wolfsburg were much improved in the second half and were back on level terms in the first minute of added time when Ricardo Rodriguez netted from the spot. There would be further late drama, however, as Dortmund secured all three points when Shinji Kagawa fired home just two minutes later.
