Frank De Boer will not be joining English Premier League side Southampton to replace compatriot Ronald Koeman, according to his former representative.
De Telegraaf reported that the Saints had attempted to lure the former Ajax Amsterdam boss to Saint Mary's following his successful six year stint with the Dutch giants – but his former agent claims the reports are false.
Guido Albers, who previously represented both Koeman and De Boer, told the Daily Echo that rumours of the former Netherlands international joining the club were wide of the mark.
"I've talked to [Saints director of football] Les Reed every three days over the last five weeks," he said.
"We have a good relationship, but we have not discussed Frank de Boer at any moment."
De Boer led Ajax to four successive Eredivisie titles in his six seasons at the club.
