Italian Serie A outfit Cagliari Calcio have confirmed the signing of Portuguese defender Bruno Alves on a two-year deal.
Alves spent most of his professional career at Porto, winning a total of nine titles, seven as a regular starter, appearing in over 171 official games.
The 34-year-old also won trophies in Russia with Zenit St. Petersburg and in Turkey with Fenerbahçe, before joining Cagliari on a free transfer, following the expiry of his contract.
"Bruno Alves has signed a contract to tie him to Cagliari until June 30, 2018," a club statement, released on Monday, confirmed.
"The Rossoblu have ensured the presence on the pitch of a real warrior, who is used to facing the toughest strikers in the world and will asset great aggressiveness, personality, technique, and boundless physical power."
The Portugal international is part of Fernando Santos's squad for the 2016 European Championship in France.
