Barcelona full-back Daniel Alves has revealed he will be leaving the club to join Italian champions Juventus next season.
Rumours of his imminent departure have been doing the rounds for a couple of weeks and Alves has finally confirmed the switch by posting a goodbye message on his social media platforms, which was quickly followed by Barcelona publishing their own farewell to the player.
Alves admits he will always look back on his time with the Catalans fondly, but is excited about this new chapter in his career.
"I am always happy, but I am even happier now," he told Sportitalia. "I am very happy to join Juventus.
"I want to win in Europe and in Italy. I have won a lot of trophies with Barcelona, but the time has come to enjoy Italy and to try to bring Juventus back to the European top."
However, the Brazilian defender pledged to return to Barcelona in some capacity in future.
"It is more of a see you later than a farewell with Barcelona," he added. "Sooner or later I will return to Barcelona. I am still a fan of Barca."
Alves will bring experience to a young and highly talented squad that includes the likes of Paul Pogba, Paulo Dybala and Alex Sandro as Juventus look to claim a record sixth consecutive Serie A title next season.
