Barcelona manager Luis Enrique believes the Catalan's campaign should be seen as a success despite their failure against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League.
The reigning Primera Division champions beat Sevilla 2-0 to win the Copa del Rey on Sunday. Along with the La Liga title, they also won The UEFA Super Cup and the Club World Cup to claim four out of six possible trophies this season.
However, they did fail in arguably the most important competition of them all after being knocked out of the Champions League at the quarter-final stage by Atletico, but Enrique is adamant the season was still a success.
"Our season can only be considered positive. We have won four of six titles," he told reporters.
Barca looked certain to win the Primera Division in March before a series of poor results let Atleti and Real Madrid back into the title race, but a perfect run of six wins in six games to end the season secured both the league and Copa del Rey titles.
"It was a spectacular end to the season. Not only for the last few must-win league games but because of how the cup final unfolded. We played perfectly, much improved on the defensive end," Enrique added.
"Sevilla created a lot of pressure. We defended very well and the team knew how to compete despite the difficulties.
"This team cannot possibly show any more character and personality than they already have. When we went down to 10 men it was a completely different game.
"The team did not have to prove anything. They keep winning with different coaches. They know how to overcome adversity."
