Evra to extend Juventus stay

Juventus left-back Patrice Evra has confirmed he will spend two more years in Turin until 2018, speaking after their Coppa Italia final win over AC Milan on Saturday.

The former Manchester United defender joined Juve as a free agent in 2014, making over 50 appearances under coach Massimiliano Allegri.

His outstanding performances throughout the campaign helped Juve to their second double of Serie A and Coppa Italia titles in two seasons.

"Yes, I gave my consent to the club, I'll stay for another two years," Evra told La Gazzetta dello Sport after the final at Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

The 35-year-old Frenchman will continue his competition with Alex Sandro, who moved to Juventus from Porto at the beginning of the season, for the full-back position.
