Watford confirm Walter Mazzarri appointment

Watford FC have announced Walter Mazzarri as their new head coach ahead of the 2016/2017 English Premier League campaign.

The former Internazionale boss will replace Spaniard Quique Sanchez Flores, who agreed to a mutual termination of his contract prior to the Hornets' last home game of the season.

Mazzarri comes with a wealth of experience, having managed the likes of Sampdoria, Napoli and the Nerazzurri, and has agreed a three-year deal at Vicarage Road.

"Walter has been the target of a number of approaches for his services, so we're delighted to secure him as Head Coach here at Watford," Watford CEO Scott Duxbury told the club's official website.

"We're thoroughly looking forward to working with such a highly-regarded coach, with the progress and development of the club always remaining the highest priority."
