FC Bayern München defender Medhi Benatia has urged the Bundesliga champions to make a decision on whether or not they want him to stay.
The 29-year-old joined Bayern from Roma in 2014 for a fee of €26 million, but has struggled to hold down a regular starting berth at the Allianz Arena.
Now, with the arrival of Mats Hummels for the new campaign and Holger Badstuber returning from a long-term injury, Benatia has fallen even further down the pecking order.
The Giallorossi are reportedly keen on bringing the Morocco international back to Serie, A but they face a battle from domestic rivals Juventus to secure his signature.
“The club need to let me know what they want,” Benatia told kicker. “If I have to leave, they’ll tell me. If they tell me to stay, then I’ll stay. It’s as simple as that.”
