Messi tops FIFA 16 rankings

The debate as to who is the better player, Lionel Messi or Cristiano Ronaldo, is likely to never end, but computer game creators EA Sports have thrown their weight behind Messi.

The Barcelona forward has been given a rating of 94 in the soon-to-be-released FIFA 16, with Ronaldo handed a rating 93, while Messi's Barcelona team-mate Luis Suarez has a rating of 90.

Bayern Munchen team-mates Manuel Neuer and Arjen Robben have also been given ratings of 90. Eden Hazard is the top-rated player from the Premier League with a rating of 89, a mark he shares with PSG striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

The top 10 is rounded out by Barca striker Neymar (88), PSG defender Thiago Silva (88) and Manchester City playmaker David Silva (88).

Gareth Bale, the world's most expensive player, is only rated an 87, enough for 23rd in the rankings.

Mesut Ozil tops the charts for Arsenal with an 87, while Manchester United keeper David de Gea is the Red Devils' highest-ranked player with an 86. United skipper Wayne Rooney is also rated at 86, along with, among others, Paul Pogba, Arturo Vidal, Karim Benzema, and Kevin De Bruyne.
