Bayern München sporting director Matthias Sammer expects new signing Kingsley Coman to have a big impact if he makes his debut against Augsburg this weekend.
The French attacking midfielder joined the German Champions on a two-year loan deal from Juventus and faces stiff competition for a role in the first team from the likes of Alcantara, Arturo Vidal, Douglas Costa, Mario Gotze and Arjen Robben.
However, Sammer has been enchanted by Coman and believes he is ready to go straight into the starting lineup Saturday's Bundesliga fixture.
"The coach picks the team. If he plays, he'll explode into life. He's quick, nimble, good on the ball, and has good game intelligence," Sammer told a media briefing. "These are all things that we look for in a player."
Robben is injured for at least the next month, potentially creating a space for Coman, but head coach Pep Guardiola might want to use the opportunity to give the under-utilised Gotze some game time.
Along with Robben, Bayern will be without Holger Badstuber and Medhi Benatia for the match.
The reigning Bundesliga champions will be out for revenge against Augsburg who snatched a 1-0 win at the Allianz-Arena last season.
