Borussia MG have been dealt a massive blow with the news Martin Stranzl faces around two months on the sidelines after sustaining a fractured eye socket.
The Austrian suffered the injury in the 65th minute of his side's 3-0 defeat to Hamburger SV after challenging for an aerial ball with teammate Havard Nordtveit.
The news of Stranzl's injury comes at the worst possible time, with Borussia currently rooted to the foot of the table with zero points from their opening four fixtures.
Stranzl only recently returned to the first-team fold following a lengthy spell on the treatment table with a serious knee injury.
The 35-year-old made 27 appearances in all competitions last season as Lucien Favre's men secured a third-place finish in the Bundesliga.
