Former Brazil striker Ronaldo has praised his one-time Galactico teammate Zinedine Zidane for the impact he has made as the Real Madrid coach this season.
Zidane’s side reached the Champions League final on Wednesday night after defeating Manchester City 1-0 on aggregate. They will now meet local rivals Atletico Madrid in the final in Milan on May 28.
“It was very important to reach the final and we are all very happy. It was very important to win,” Ronaldo told Cadena COPE.
“It’s amazing what he’s doing, Zidane. He deserves it. He has the respect of the players. Atletico Madrid has much merit but hopefully it can be the title of Los Blancos.”
Zidane was named head coach of Los Blancos in January 2016, following the sacking of Rafa Benetiz, having previously managed Real’s Castilla side.
