Oxlade-Chamberlain ruled out of Euro 2016

Arsenal winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has been ruled out of next month's European Championships in France after suffering a fresh injury setback.

The 22-year-old hasn't played for the Gunners since coming off injured in their Champions League last 16 match against Barcelona in February.

Although Oxlade-Chamberlain returned to training on April 23rd, manager Arsene Wenger has revealed the player won't play again this season after picking up a new knee injury in training on Monday.

"There is no chance of the Euros for him. He will be back at the beginning of July," Wenger said ahead of Arsenal's match against Manchester City on Sunday

"It's very sad, because he was quite ready physically, and sharp in training."

The tournament kicks off on 10 June, with the Three Lions playing their opening match a day later against Russia.
