VfL Wolfsburg forward Andre Schurrle is determined to help his side make Champions League history when they face Manchester United on Tuesday.
Wolfsburg have an opportunity to qualify for the last 16 stage of the tournament for the first time if they beat or draw with United at the Volkswagen Arena.
Dieter Hecking's men come into the match looking for revenge after suffering a 2-1 defeat to United when the teams met on September 30.
“It's an extremely beautiful game and that's why we're extremely motivated,” Schurrle told reporters. “We know it's a big opportunity for us to write history for Wolfsburg and hopefully we will leave as the winners.”
United have come under heavy criticism as they continue to struggle for goals, but Schurrle knows that his side cannot underestimate a Red Devils side that possesses world class players.
“It's surprising that they are struggling to score goals, but they have amazing players and they know where the goal is, so we've got to be very careful,” he said. “When you speak about United, you speak about a big club and you know they have great players. We know we will get chances, and if we convert our opportunities we can have a great game against a great club.”
