A hilarious own goal, a terrible goalkeeping blunder and Arsene Wenger getting roasted by a comedian. We feature a few funny and interesting stories from the world of football.
Own goal makes other own goals look not as bad
If you’re going to put one into the back of your own net, you might as well do it with a bit of style.
Take a look at this hilarious own goal from the Brazilian second tier, which looks like it was scripted for maximum comedic effect:
Goalkeeper wishes he was somewhere else
Spare a thought for Willem II keeper Kostas Lamprou, whose goalkeeping blunder saw his side lose 1-0 to Feyenoord over the weekend.
Presented with the tamest of shots from way out, Lamprou’s butter fingers consigns his side to their eighth defeat in nine matches, and sends them plummeting into the relegation zone.

Comedian roasts Wenger on live TV
Jack Whitehall is a comedian, but he also happens to be a big Arsenal fan.
Like many fans, Whitehall has grown somewhat disconted with Gunners boss Arsene Wenger’s tenure, and he made his feelings known on live TV over the weekend.
Whitehall compares Wenger to a drunk party-goer who doesn’t know when to call it a night and go home.
Watch as the scathing attack leaves everyone around him feeling pretty uncomfortable.

Depay’s mixed signals on social media
We’re not quite sure what to make of Manchester United winger Memphis Depay’s behaviour on social media recently.
The Dutch international created an uproar when he decided to delete all references to the Red Devils off his social media pages.
Fans thought Depay was sending a clear message that he was ready to move on from the club, but Depay promptly responded with an epic display of loyalty, posting 12 separate picture to form one large image of him celebrating in full United regalia.
Depay appears to have a bit of a love-hate relationship going on with his club at present. More on this story as it develops.
