Atletico Madrid forward Antoine Griezmann has warned his team-mates against complacency after qualifying for the Champions League final on Tuesday night.
The France international’s goal in the second half of the match at Allianz Arena proved to be the deciding factor as Atleti eliminated Bayern Munich on away goals following a 2-2 aggregate draw.
Atletico will now contest a second final in three years, but Griezmann insists they must not get carried away.
“[Bayern] were better than us today, but we won the first leg and that’s it. We scored an away goal, and that was most important,” he told Antena 3.
“But we have to keep our feet on the ground. We are happy. It was a difficult, complicated game.
“There was a great team in front of us, and we had to defend, so we had to try and get a goal and that’s what we did.”
Diego Simeone’s men will wait to face the winner of the clash between Real Madrid and Manchester City, who are set to revive hostilities at Santiago Bernabeu on Wednesday night, following a 0-0 draw in the first leg of their semi-final tie.
