Atletico Madrid head coach Diego Simeone has absolutely no doubt in-form midfielder Saul Niguez will remain at the club despite recent speculation about his future.
The 21-year-old's stock has taken a meteoric rise this season following the faith shown in him by Simeone that has seen the youngster play 44 times for Atleti in all competitions this season, contributing nine goals and four assists including the winning goal against Bayern in midweek.
Since that Champions League encounter, speculation about the player's future has been rife, but Simeone doesn't think Saul is going anywhere.
"We are in a situation with young players, very young, with a great present and an even better future, all based on their day to day work," he said ahead of the Primera Division match against Rayo Vallecano on Saturday.
"Saul has a very good present and the best thing for him is to stay away from all the talk about him. I am not afraid he will move to another team."
Atleti are, once again, having a phenomenal season under Simeone, level on points with Barcelona at the top of the league standings and with one foot in the door of the Champions League final, but the manager refuses to get carried away by all the praise they are receiving.
"I never like extremes, they are not good," he explained. "I do not consider them fair. I take a balanced view and know that I cannot be distracted from the day to day reality, which is what keeps me going and excites me. I do not like out of proportion praise."
