Diego Simeone is confident that Atletico Madrid can reach the Champions League final after a 1-0 win over Bayern in their semi-final first leg at Vicente Calderon on Wednesday.
Los Rojiblancos have Saúl Ñíguez to thank after a fantastic goal by the young Spaniard gives them a narrow lead heading into the second leg at the Allianz Arena next week Tuesday.
This result gives us the chance of going to Munich with possibilities," Simeone said after the game. "We have finished the first part of the qualifying round and now we have the second left.
"In the first half, we did what we set out to do, while in the second half, they were closer to what they sought at the start."
The Argentine coach also gave his take on Saúl's goal, which included a skillful dribble into the box before cutting onto his left foot and curling it in off the far post beyond Bayern goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
"It seems he comes very well out of the first dribble, which gives him the strength to keep carrying," Simeone added. "I didn't see much more, but I imagined the shot. The goal makes us very happy because of the play."
