Everton goalkeeper Joel Robles feels Roberto Martinez is the right man for the Everton job amid reports he could be sacked at the end of the campaign.
The future of the former Wigan and Swansea boss has come into question over recent weeks after an underwhelming Premier League campaign as the Toffees languish in 11th spot, but Robles feels his Spanish compatriot deserves more time at the club.
"His job as manager is not easy but, for me, yes, Roberto Martinez is important," the former Atletico Madrid keeper told the Echo. "He's intelligent and for this club, he is perfect.
"He is a top manager. It's normal that when you lose [people say] that the manager and players are bad, but I don't think so.
"We are a young team and we can be a top team. The staff are top and the most important thing now is to focus on the next game and take it step by step."
Robles has impressed since taking over as first-choice goalkeeper from veteran Tim Howard, keeping eight clean sheets in 23 games in all competitions.
