Allegri: It will be the game of the season

Juventus manager Massimiliano Allegri has no disillusions about the importance of Sunday's their Serie A clash against Fiorentina.

The Bianconeri could potentially with their fifth consecutive Scudetto if results go their way this weekend and Allegri is determined for his squad to do their part by beating Fiorentina in Florence.

If they are victorious, it will mean Napoli will have to beat Roma on Monday or the title race will be over. If Partenopei lose, Juve will need just a single point to wrap up the Scudetto.

"Everything depends on the result tomorrow because we have to get a result in Florence," Allegri said. "For us, it will be the game of the season and one we have been preparing for all week.

"However, things are always difficult in Florence as it is a tough atmosphere. We need to take one step at a time for the Scudetto and can only celebrate when we are over the line.

"We have to get to May 21 in the ideal physical condition because once you lose a little sharpness, it can be tough to get it back. At the moment though, we look good.

"It is just a question of mentality and mindset," he explained. "We always want to keep improving and picking up results at this club.

"So in that case, it is normal that elimination [from the Champions League] weighs on us. It is something that myself and the players are deeply sorry about, it was very disappointing.

"Next year, we must work even harder to do even better and make sure that we have a great Champions League campaign."
