Byrne keen on Eredivisie stay

Manchester City midfielder Jack Byrne admits he’s keen to continue his development in the Eredivisie after his loan spell at SC Cambuur comes to an end.

The Republic of Ireland U-21 international has impressed for the Yellow-Blues despite their struggles, as they face relegation to the Eerste Divisie and he feels he’d benefit from another loan spell gaining first-team football away from his parent club.

“The stadiums are full and how the teams play football appeals to me,” the 19-year old told AD.

“I have to wait and see what Manchester City want, because I have a two-year contract there.

“Netherlands is a good school for me. I can develop further here.”

Since leaving the Citizens on loan, Bryne has featured 26 times for Cambuur, scoring three goals and registering a further three assists across all competitions.
