Eintracht Frankfurt skipper Alex Meier has no idea whether he will be able to return this season as he recovers from knee surgery.
The 33-year-old striker has not featured for Die Adler since the goalless draw with FC Schalke 04 on February 28 after sustaining a knee injury.
Meier went under the knife earlier this month and is on the road to recovery, but concedes he has yet to do any serious rehabilitation and give a time-frame for his comeback.
“I don’t know when I will be able to play again and nobody else knows,” he told Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung.
“The injury must properly heal. I hope I can start running again soon.”
Niko Kovac’s side have struggled for goals in his absence, netting just twice in the seven games without their captain, who is the club’s leading scorer this term with 12 goals.
