Dan Petrescu warned his Jiangsu FC side that they need to show improvement despite edging closer to the Round of 16 of the AFC Champions League on Wednesday.
A brilliant performance from Alex Texeira was the catalyst, with the Brazilian having a hand in all three goals in Jiangsu’s comfortable 3-0 win over Becamex Binh Duong.
Petrescu, though, said that the real tests are yet to come, and his players will have to produce better if they want to pass those tests.
“In our next game we play away against Jeonbuk,” the Romanian coach explained. “It is going to be extremely difficult as they are the Korean champions.
“We could qualify for the Round of 16 if we win, but if we lose, we will have to see what happens between FC Tokyo and Binh Duong.
“I'm very happy that we won today. The beginning was very fast, and our early opening goal broke their tactics.
“We had lots of opportunities in the game, but didn’t converted them into goals, but I have to pay my appreciation to all my players."
