Real Madrid thrashed Villarreal 3-0 Santiago Bernabeu to keep up with the pace in the Primeria Division race on Wednesday night.

Real Madrid had three players on target during their comprehensive 3-0 victory over Villarreal in La Liga.
Karim Benzema, Lucas Vázquez and Luka Modric guided Los Blancos past the visitors. With four games to go before the end of the season, Los Blancos are one point behind leaders Barcelona.
Denis Suárez got the first opportunity of the match but the Villarreal midfielder saw his right footed shot was blocked by the defence in the fifth minute.
Real striker Karim Benzema fancied his chances from outside the box with a shot in the ninth minute, but his attempt was collected by opposition goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo.
Modric provided Cristiano Ronaldo with a through ball but the striker shot wide of the target in the 17th minute.
A cross from Toni Kroos found the head of Raphael Varane, but his attempt went wide of the target.
Villarreal were under heavy attack from the opposition with Ronaldo and Benzema leading the line for the hosts.
Vázquez tried his luck from inside the box, but his chance missed the upright before Benzema opened the scoring with a header from inside the box in the 42nd minute.
Los Blancos took a 1-0 lead into the break, but it could have been more after numerous missed chances.
In the second half, Jonathan dos Santos got a chance inside the box for Villarreal but he was dispossessed by defender Sergio Ramos.
Vázquez doubled the lead for Madrid with a right footed shot from the right side of the box following an assist from Benzema in the 69th minute.
Modric finished off the opposition with a left footed shot in the 76th minute that beat the goalkeeper from a Danilo cross.
Suárez had a late chance for Villarreal to grab a consolation goal, but his shot was saved by Keylor Navas in the 88th minute.
