VfL Wolfsburg head coach Dieter Hecking says he is not a fan of Bayern München ahead of the two side's much anticipated Bundesliga clash on Tuesday.
Die Wolfe and the Bavarians have been involved in some exciting ties in recent seasons, Hecking's men running out 4-1 winners at home last season, before winning on penalties in the DFL Super Cup earlier in this campaign.
Hecking, though, has only once won at the Allianz Arena – when he was in charge of Hannover in 2006 – and while he respects them, he admitted Bayern are nowhere near being his favourite side in the German top-flight.
"I was never a fan of Bayern," he said in an interview with Kicker. "What has been created there is outstanding, however, and has my greatest respect.
"There are stadiums in which the atmosphere excites me more.
"That I do not like to go to Munich is not because of my record there, but due to my lack of proximity. I come from the Ruhr area – one has different preferences."
