Tasci rues Bayern loan move

Out-of-favour defender Serdar Tasci admits he regrets taking up FC Bayern München’s loan offer after featuring just once for the Bundesliga giants this year.

The former Germany international joined the Bavarian club on a six-month loan deal from Spartak Moscow during the January transfer window as cover for injured duo Jerome Boateng and Javi Martinez.

However, Tasci has managed just one appearance for Pep Guardiola’s side since his arrival. He was substituted early in the second half of their 3-1 win over SV Darmstadt 98 on February 20.

David Alaba and Joshua Kimmich have been the preferred choice in central defence for Guardiola, despite neither being a recognised centre-back, and with Martinez already back in the frame after recovering from injury, Tasci is unlikely to add to his 52 minutes of football for Bayern this term.

And the 28-year-old concedes he erred in returning to his homeland from Russia, telling Bild: “I would not have joined Bayern had I known that I would not get any playing time.”
