In-demand Schalke midfielder Leroy Sane admits it has always been his dream to play football for Barcelona, but insists he is focused on his role at the Miners.
The 20-year-old has contributed five goals and five assists from Schalke this season and has been one of the bright sparks in an inconsistent and disappointing season at the Veltins Arena.
His performances have caught the eye of several top clubs around Europe and reports of interest have emerged from elite teams such as Manchester City, Real Madrid and Barcelona.
While the player himself admitted he is likely to remain on the books at Schalke for the foreseeable future, he also revealed that it has always been his dream to turn out for the Catalans.
"I make no secret of this," he told Bild. "Some time in the future I want to play abroad and at an even bigger club than Schalke. Most of all at Barca — even as a little boy, that was my dream club."
However, his move is not likely to come at the end of this season after club chairman Clemens Tonnies stated he was not for sale at any price, while the player added, "I think next season I will play at Schalke."
