Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino believes Harry Kane's busy off-season schedule is to blame for his lack of goalscoring form.
The 22-year-old was in action for the England U21 side at the Euro Under-21 Championships in June after his breakthrough campaign last season.
Kane, though, has yet to score a goal in the Premier League since the start of the new campaign and has failed to impress in six outings thus far.
And Pochettino believes lack of a break during the off-season is costing his star striker, who he feels has lost confidence following his slow start.
"I think Harry is the same person and he has the same mentality as last season," he said ahead of Spurs' clash against Manchester City on Saturday.
"But maybe at the end of the season, he rested, he went to the Euros and he didn't score at the Euros in three games.
"He came back late for pre-season and then you need to recover the time. Sometimes, you are not in the best scoring condition when you start to play and you don’t score and your confidence goes down.
"This is probably what has happened but it is a good experience for the future."
