Points are needed at either end of the Bundesliga standings when Borussia Dortmund take on SV Werder Bremen at Signal-Iduna Park on Saturday.
Dortmund are keeping pace with league leaders FC Bayern München, who they trail by five points. Dortmund are undefeated in their last 10 Bundesliga matches, including a 0-0 draw with Bayern, and have won their last two since then.
Bremen, on the other hand, will be worrying about relegation in the remaining weeks of the season, as they are just one point above the drop zone.
Bremen are on 28 points with FC Augsburg, TSG 1899 Hoffenheim, and Eintracht Frankfurt on 27. With so little separating those three sides, Bremen will be desperate for points if they hope to survive the relegation battle.
In team news, Dortmund will have to make do without Serbian centre-back Neven Subotic, who will miss the rest of the season due to a thrombosis.
Bremen, are without injury victims Raphael Wolf (hip), Philipp Bargfrede (knee), Milos Veljkovic (toe), and Aron Johannsson , while Papy Djilobodji is suspended.
