Napoli playmaker Marek Hamsik claims recent reports of discussions between himself and Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane are merely speculation.
The Slovakia international has been in superb form once again for Napoli this season, contributing five goals and seven assists on the way to helping the side to second in the Serie A table, just three points behind leaders Juventus.
Hamsik has been a star at the Partenopei for a number of years now and his performances have inevitably seen him linked with the best clubs in the world, such as Real Madrid, but the 28-year-old has written it off as hearsay.
“Real Madrid? I have a contract with Napoli and I’m really not thinking of leaving. I’m pleased about what we’re doing, but we’ll see,” he told Calcio Napoli 24.
“[Coach Zinedine] Zidane didn’t call me, but then again not many people know my phone number. These are just rumours going round, I haven’t received any actual offer.”

Hamsik believes Napoli still have a good chance of winning the Scudetto this season and has set a target of winning all of their remaining league games in order to give themselves the best chance.
“Our objective is to win the final eight games, because I doubt that Juventus will always get the perfect result. They could lose a few points,” he added.
“But we’re not looking at the Bianconeri. We only think of ourselves and about making as many points as possible. We’ll see about the rest.
“Hope never dies and we’ll believe in it until the end. I’ve been in Napoli for a while but I’ve never seen a team play so well.
“I never felt this way in the previous seasons and I’m enjoying this game with my teammates.”
