Lionel Messi has praised his Argentina teammates after their 2-1 win over Chile in World Cup qualifying in Santiago on Thursday.
Felipe Gutierrez put Chile ahead after 11 minutes at Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos, before Angel Di Maria equalised in the 20th minute and River Plate defender Gabriel Mercado scored the winner five minutes later.
"We had the personality to get up after going 1-0 down against an opponent who is not easy," the Barcelona forward said.
"This team leaves everything in every game and we [played] before a tough opponent and a tough pitch.
The win gave Argentine revenge for their penalty shootout defeat in last year's Copa America final, and is their second victory from five matches in the South American qualifying group, taking them above Chile and Brazil in the standings.
"On Tuesday we will have another tough match against Bolivia," Messi concluded. "We cannot give away more points at home."
