Full Report

Norwich made a decent start to the game and did well to keep Leicester at bay during the opening exchanges of the first half.

And John Ruddy was called upon to help keep his side on level terms with 25 minutes played as he showed terrific reflexes to deny Danny Drinkwater at the far post from a corner.

There was nothing he could do a minute later, though, as Vardy dispatched a penalty into the top corner after he had been brought down in the box by Sebastien Bassong.

It took just two minutes of the second half for Leicester to double their advantage, Jeffrey Schlupp drilling a low effort underneath Ruddy after a swift counter-attack.

Norwich, though, started to settle into the game and came close to pulling one back when Mbokani rattled the cross bar with a strong header from a Nathan Redmond cross.

The DR Congo international would not be denied again just moments later, however, popping up at the far post to put away Jonny Howson's cross.

Leicester did have the ball in the back of the net on 71 minutes, when substitute Leonardo Ulloa nodded home with his first touch of the ball, but the goal would be disallowed for a push on Cameron Jerome by the Leicester striker.

Norwich piled on the pressure in search of an equaliser and came desperately close in the 85th minute when Redmond's driven effort rattled the cross bar.

Vardy had to late chances as he took advantage of space vacated by Norwich, but dragged both of his efforts wide of the far post.

Norwich were nearly level in the fifth minute of added time when Redmond had his goalbound effort deflected just wide off Danny Drinkwater's backside.
