Sousa wants more of the same

Fiorentina head coach Paulo Sousa has called on his charges to use the momentum from their early-season form to continue their strong start.

La Viola are sitting pretty at the summit of the Serie A table after thrashing Inter 4-1 last weekend and, while he acknowledges their game against Atalanta on Sunday will be tough, Sousa is confident they can triumph if they continue playing the way they have done already this term.

"It is difficult to prepare for games like this in just a few days as we have to move on immediately from our last game," he told the pre-match press conference. "It is important to stay focused.

"Atalanta are a strong team, they have lost only one game, they have the second best defense in the league and they come here off the back of two consecutive victories. They have also had more time to prepare than us, but we just need to continue our positive momentum.

"I don't think my players need any great motivation, being first in the table has given us encouragement and dreaming of the title doesn't hurt. We want to achieve perfection and we know that in certain games we will need maximum concentration and a huge effort."
