Club legend Javier Zanetti believes the current Inter squad 'is growing' but insists its too early to talk about the team winning the Serie A title.
The Nerazzurri drew 1-1 away to Sampdoria on Sunday and currently sit two points behind league leaders Fiorentina, who handed Roberto Mancini's side their first defeat of the season last weekend.
Zanetti believes the team did well to respond to that disappointing 3-0 loss to La Viola and believes the club are headed in the right direction under Mancini, though the Argentine stopped short of calling them title favourites.
"The team is growing," he told Radio Rai. "We needed a reaction after the defeat to Fiorentina and we knew things were going to be tough against the Blucerchiati at the Ferraris.
"I saw the group react. The championship is very well-balanced, there are many teams close to each other.
"But I think it's too early to discuss the Scudetto. Inter still have huge margins of growth and [Coach Roberto] Mancini is doing a great job."
