No France call-up for Benzema yet

French striker Karim Benzema will have to wait a little longer for his return to the France national team as he was left out of manager Didier Deschamps' squad for the two upcoming friendly matches.

The Real Madrid forward was allegedly involved in a plot to blackmail his national team-mate Mathieu Valbuena with a sex tape and could not play with the team until he was cleared of all accusations related to the case.

On March 11th the French Football Federation(FFF) lifted part of the judicial restrictions which prevented the player from establishing contact with Valbuena, and allowed Benzema to return to the national team.

However FFF president Noel Le Graet revealed on Wednesday that the 28-year-old will not be called up by the French team for the games against the Netherlands and Russia set to take place on March 25 and 29 respectively.
