Ezequiel Schelotto has revealed he is on the verge of agreeing terms with Leicester city, despite manager Claudio Ranieri's recent claim to the contrary.
Ranieri cast doubt over the move after claiming the Foxes weren't close to signing the midfielder, who has since spoken optimistically above to English football.
"I'd like to play there and I'm ready to get back into action," Schelotto told Gazzetta dello Sport.
"I don't know what stage the negotiations are at with Leicester, but if [Esteban] Cambiasso can do well there, then I'm sure I can too."
Schelotto parted ways with Inter Milan at the end of last season, having spent the entire campaign on loan at Chievo Verona. Prior to that, the Argentine winger had loan spells with Sassuolo and Parma.
The once-capped Italy international also admitted his surprise at being without a club at this stage of his career.
He added: "I would never have imagined I'd find myself without a club at the age of 26. Now I'm waiting for a gift – a new club."
