Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho looks to have added another goalkeeper to his squad after Marco Amelia's agent claimed a deal has been agreed with the club.
The 33-year-old was tipped to link up with the Blues last week for a trial as Mourinho searched for more cover for the injured Thibaut Courtois, who is ruled out until December.
Asmir Begovic is the only other experienced option in goal and the defending Premier League champions appear to have resolved that issue this week.
Amelia's advisor, Federico Pastorello, revealed on social media the west London club had offered a contract to the 2006 World Cup winner.
Pastorello wrote on Instagram: "Dinner with #marcoamelia to celebrate the contract with @chelseafc!!! Good luck!"
The former Italy international has been a free agent since departing Perugia earlier this year and would be allowed to feature in the top flight as Mourinho only named 19 senior players in his 25-man Premier League squad.
