FC Bayern München striker Robert Lewandowski knows the result of their Champions League Last-16 second leg against Juventus is far from over.
The Bavarians were two goals to the good against the Turin outfit in the first leg, but the Bianconeri managed to fight back and earn a 2-2 draw, setting up a mouth-watering clash in the deciding tie in Munich on Wednesday.
“In the first leg we played very well,” Lewandowski told reporters at the pre-match press conference. “Up until about 60-70 minutes we were leading 2-0, then a few minutes later we’re at 2-2. That means Juventus are a strong team at home, but also away from home. We have to be careful.”
Lewandowski was on the scoresheet as Bayern netted five times to thrash SV Werder Bremen at the weekend, but the Poland international is aware they will not find it as easy to score in midweek.
“They’ll play very well in defence tomorrow. They have great quality in defence, and they can use that to wait for their chance and use any opportunities to score goals. We have to be aware of that,” he added.
“We know we scored five goals in our last Bundesliga game, but tomorrow will be a different game. What’s certain is that Juve are a top team, they play at the highest levels and are always very focused,” he concluded.
