Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger insists his side are looking to finish as high as possible in the Premier League as they enter an important week in their season.
The Gunners host Watford in the league on Sunday before heading to Barcelona on Wednesday for their Champions League last-16, second-leg clash, followed by a trip to Everton four days later.
Wenger’s team are currently third in the top-flight standings, eight points off the summit with eight matches remaining, but the Frenchman is adamant they are not content with just qualifying for the Champions League, and want to continue fighting for the title even if their chances appear to be slim at best.
“At the moment it can look pretentious to still think we are in the [Premier League] fight, but mentally we are,” he said.
“We want to make sure that we keep focus on what we want to do and go as high as we can. We are not in the mode of just making sure we finish in the top four.
“Maybe it will be the case, and if we don’t play well we will not even be in the top four. But we want to continue to fight to have a chance for the Premiership.”
