Hertha Berlin manager Pal Dardai has praised his team's performance after they beat FC Schalke 2-0 at Olympiastadion Berlin on Friday.
Goals from Vedad Ibisevic and Niklas Stark in either half saw Berlin retain third place in the Bundesliga standings, while Schalke are in fourth, just four points behind them.
"I played in the team the last time we beat Schalke," Dardai exclaimed. "Credit to the team, they did their jobs perfectly.
"Hertha are a good side at home and the new turf has helped us and our way of playing. We had a lot of chances that we didn't take, but the important thing is that we didn't concede.
"That shows that we're organised and disciplined. The table looks good but it's only Friday. We'll have another look after the weekend."
Hertha defender Stark bagged his first Bundesliga goal in the win, and he was delighted to find the net while remaining diffident when asked about his side's chances of Champions League qualification.
"All in all it was a bit scrappy but we played really well," Stark said. "We struggled at times but they're a great team, especially in attack. We deserved the win though.
"It feels awesome to score my first Bundesliga goal. The Champions League would be nice for any club. We have ambitions but we'll see what else we can achieve in the league this season."
