De Graafschap picked up a valuable three points in their battle against relegation after beating Roda JC 3-0 at De Vijverberg on Friday night.
The Eredivisie basement club never looked back after taking the lead through Youssef El Jebli on 33 minutes, with Robin Propper giving them a two-goal cushion early in the second half.
Piotr Parzyszek struck in the first minute of stoppage time to wrap up only a third victory of the season for Superboeren, who halted a six-match losing streak to move within two points of 19th-placed Cambuur ahead of the weekend fixtures.
The hosts controlled the game in the early stages but failed to carve out any clear-cut opportunities, while the closest De Koempels came to breaking the deadlock in the opening half-hour was a shot from Hicham Faik that sailed over the target.
But the opener would arrive soon afterwards as El Jebli pounced from inside the area with a low finish on 33 minutes to register his first goal of the campaign.
Tom van Hyfte wasted a good chance to draw the visitors level just before half-time when he headed wide a cross from Martin Milec over on the right.
Rydell Poepon was then presented with a golden opportunity to equalise early in the second half after turning his marker and racing through on goal, but he was thwarted by Hidde Jurjus in the home goal.
It was an important save as the hosts scored moments later following a swift counter-attack and leading to a corner, which was headed home by Propper on 50 minutes.
Nine minutes later Darije Kalezic’s team were handed a lifeline when the referee pointed to the penalty spot for a foul on Arjan Swinkels, but Poepon’s weak effort from 12 yards out was saved by Jurjus.
Parzyszek would rub salt into their wounds with a third goal at the death to seal a rare victory for De Graafschap.
