Arsenal v Watford

Arsenal will continue their defence of the FA Cup when they welcome Premier League rivals Watford to the Emirates Stadium in the quarter-finals on Sunday.

The match kicks off at 21:30 HKT.

Arsene Wenger’s side have won the competition for the past two seasons and are bidding to become only the third club in history to lift the trophy three times in succession.

The defending champions saw off Sunderland and Burnley before beating 2014 losing finalists Hull 4-0 in a replay on Monday after the original tie finished goalless.

That victory was the north Londoners’ first in six outings in all competitions as their title challenge faltered in recent weeks.

The Hornets, meanwhile, booked their place in the last-eight with successive 1-0 wins over Newcastle, Nottingham Forest and Leeds in the three previous rounds.

However, Quique Flores’ team are searching for their first win in four games, having played out to a goalless draw with Bournemouth before suffering back-to-back 1-0 defeats against Manchester United and Leicester in the league.

In team news, the hosts will be without midfielder Aaron Ramsey after he sustained a thigh injury against the Tigers at the start of the week.

Defensive duo Per Mertesacker also picked up knocks in the cup tie, although they are expected to be fit, but Wenger could decide to bring back Laurent Koscielny.

The Frenchman hasn’t featured since the loss to United last month and is yet to return to training, but Wenger may choose to risk his compatriot from the start.

The visitors will assess the fitness of Craig Cathcart, who is struggling with a calf problem that has sidelined him for the last two matches.

Flores remains without the services of Joel Ekstrand and Jose Manuel Juardo, who are ruled out with hamstring and calf injuries respectively.
