Germany international Antonio Rudiger has sustained a thigh injury, ruling him out of Roma's Champions League clash with Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday.
Rudiger is the latest addition to Roma's injury list, joining midfielder Daniele De Rossi on the sidelines for the next two weeks.
The defender has been a regular member in coach Lucciano Spalletti's squad, making 23 Serie A appearances and helping the side stay in contention for the 2015/16 Serie A title, since joining the club on loan from his German team VfB Stuttgart.
However the injury set-back he sustained during Roma's 4-1 victory over Ligue 1 rivals Floriente will force him to watch from the stands when Roma renew hostilies with the Spanish giants.
The nine-time Coppa Italia champions will be hoping to reverse a 2-1 first-leg deficit, when they lock horns with Zinedine Zidane's men on Tuesday.
