Qatar coach Jose Daniel Carreno has urged his side not to let their guard down during their 2018 World Cup qualifier against Maldives on Tuesday.
Qatar have won all four of their opening qualifying encounters to top Group C by five points. With one foot already in the final qualifying phase, Carreno wants to keep their unbeaten streak intact on Tuesday, but has warned his side not to underestimate Maldives.
"Usually, after each important win against a big team the level of performance comes down," he told reporters. "We are all focused on the Maldives match and nothing that comes after. It will be a very big step forward (if Qatar win) but it will not be decisive."
Meanwhile, Maldives coach Ricki Herbert believes that his side are capable of causing an upset against Qatar, but concedes that they are in for a tough time of it.
"The game for us tomorrow is very exciting. Qatar are a very good team, a very strong team, it's a big challenge," he said. "We will be positive. Football is full of surprises and hopefully tomorrow we can see another one."
