Napoli director Pietro Lo Monaco reveals Tottenham Hotspur contacted him about the prospect of bringing forward Lorenzo Insigne to the Premier League.
Rumours of interest in Insigne from around Europe have been confirmed by Lo Monaco, who claims Tottenham have already contacted him and the player’s agent, who said three other big European clubs have also expressed an interest.
Partenopei are challenging for the Serie A title this year led by the scoring exploits of Gonzalo Higuain, who has been ably supported by Insigne’s 11 league goals and 10 assists, showing he offers far more than just goals.
“Insigne is the complete package for a wide player,” former Catania director general told TV Luna. “I spoke to Tottenham and I know for certain that Pochettino is crazy about Insigne.”
Isigne’s agent added: “There are three clubs among Europe’s top 10 that have their eyes on Insigne.”
Napoli have hit somewhat of a rough patch recently and have not won in their last five games, including getting knocked out of the Europa League by Villareal, but remain just three points behind Juventus at the top of the league table.
