Real Madrid defender Pepe insists that Cristiano Ronaldo's controversial comments after their derby defeat to Atletico Madrid is just water under the bridge.
Los Blancos have been blowing hot and cold in La Liga this season, Currently sitting third in the standings, nine points adrift of league leaders Barcelona after losing 1-0 to their cross-town rivals on Saturday.
In the wake of the derby clash, the clearly upset Portuguese winger said that "if everyone was at my level, we'd be leaders," before backtracking in the aftermatch, claiming that he was misunderstood.
However, reports suggest that Ronaldo had to explain himself to his teammates, after they questioned him about his comments.
Pepe confirmed the talks, and insists that they have moved on and are now focused on winning as a team for the sake of their fans.
"Cristiano? It happened. We talked. We are all together in the same boat," Pepe said after Madrid's 3-1 victory over Levante on Wednesday.
"What we have to do is work and sweat every game in this shirt, because many people in Spain and in the world who suffer when we lose. We need to respect and work with great humility."
