Utrecht booked their place in the KNVB Beker final on Wednesday when they beat VVSB 3-0 at the Galgenwaard Stadium.
The hosts dominated the match throughout but had to wait until the 73rd minute to get their noses in front, albeit somewhat fortunately, when VVSB right-back Peet van der Slot bundled the ball into his own net.
Two minutes later, Erik ten Hag’s side doubled their advantage when Sebastien Haller was found by Andreas Ludwig and the Utrecht striker made no mistake with the finish.
The result was put beyond question in the first minute of added time when Bart Ramselaar played in Patrick Joosten, who coolly slotted home.
Utrecht will play the winners of Thursday’s match between Feyenoord and AZ Alkmaar in the final.
