Atalanta forward Alejandro Gomez has admitted he had the option of leaving the Serie A club in January.
The 28-year old has developed into one of the most highly-rated attackers in the Nerazzurri squad since joining from Ukrainian outfit Metalist Kharkiv and recently ended speculation that he might leave by signing a new four-year contact extension with La Dea.
"I'm happy with the faith the club has wanted to show me, making me feel important," the Argentine told TuttoAtalanta.
"In January some offers arrived but I didn't need to leave. I felt really good here."
The former Catania player also spoke of Atalanta's recent dip in form, citing that a loss in confidence as a reason for the lack of goals in the new year.
"Atalanta’s form? It's difficult to explain, physically the team is there," he said. "Maybe the reason is that we're not managing to score goals and then the fear of losing takes over and we're content with a point."
