‘Don’t worry Leo, Berni won’t bite’

Leonardo DiCaprio was finally awarded an Oscar over the weekend, walking away with the Best Actor gong for his role in the revenge film The Revenant.

Early on in the flick – if you haven’t seen it we won’t give away too many spoilers – Di Caprio’s character is attacked and nearly killed by a grizzly bear, before the real action starts…

The award came some 20 years after Di Caprio was first nominated for an Academy Award, and after the American were continually overlooked for the most sought-after prize in the film industry, it came as no surprise then that many supporters from all walks of life paid tribute to the actor.

Bundesliga champions Bayern München got in on the act and took to Twitter to congratulate him on the award with a thumbs-up from their mascot, Berni the bear…
