Buriram United coach Alexandre Gama has admitted that his side will be in for a tough challenge in their AFC Champions League match against Shandong Luneng on Tuesday.
Buriram will be without captain Suchao Nutnum for the fixture as has been suspended after he was sent off during his team’s 6-0 loss to FC Seoul in their AFC Champions League opener last Wednesday.
The Thai Premier League club will also have to make do without Brazilian striker Diogo who has been ruled out for three weeks after he dislocated his shoulder during the match against FC Seoul.
Gama is hopeful that his side can bounce back from their poor start to their continental campaign despite being hamstrung by the loss of two key players.
“We did well against FC Seoul until we lost Diogo,” Gama told the official AFC website. “We’ve been seeking alternative solutions for him for the Shandong match.
“We lost by a big margin last time and now we will be without two talismans. So this time, we have to make changes in our formation and tactics to fight for a positive result.”
Buriram currently sit at the bottom of the Group F standings.
